Cấu trúc It was not until là gì, cách sử dụng và bài tập thực hành
It was not until là một dạng cấu trúc ngữ pháp thường gặp và hay sử dụng phổ biến cả văn viết và văn nói. Hôm nay, chúng ta sẽ cùng tìm hiểu lại một lần nữa về cấu trúc It was not until để bạn có thể nắm rõ hơn cùng với các bài tập It was not until kèm theo. Đừng bỏ lỡ nhé!
I. CẤU TRÚC IT WAS NOT UNTIL, CÁCH SỬ DỤNG
It was not until là một cấu trúc nhằm để nhấn mạnh một khoảng thời gian, mốc thời gian, một thời điểm nào đó mà xảy ra sự việc. Và nó được diễn tả bằng công thức sau:
It is/ was not until + time word/ phrase/ clause + that… + S + V: Mãi cho đến… thì…
Ex:
- It wasn’t until midnight that I finished work at the company: Mãi đến nửa đêm tôi mới hoàn thành công việc ở công ty
- It is not until 8:pm that Lisa comes to the party: Mãi cho đến 8 giờ tối thì Lisa mới đến bữa tiệc
II. CHIA THÌ VỚI CẤU TRÚC IT WAS NOT UNTIL
– Khi sử dụng it was not until ở thì hiện tại đơn sẽ chia như sau:
It is not until… that S + V(s/es)
– Khi sử dụng it was not until ở thì quá khứ đơn sẽ chia:
It was not until… that S + V2/ed
Lưu ý: Khi sử dụng It is/was not until… phải nối với mệnh đề theo sau bằng “that” không dùng “when”
III. CẤU TRÚC NOT UNTIL/ TILL ĐẢO NGỮ
Not until + time word/ phrase/ clause + trợ động từ + S + V (nguyên thể)
Vế 1: Giữ nguyên
Vế 2: Đảo trợ động từ hoặc tobe lên trước
Ex:
- They danced until midnight => Not until midnight did they stop to dance.
- I would’t come home till 10 o’clock => It is not until 10 o’clock that I will come home.
