MODEL là danh từ, có nghĩa là là một mô hình sao chép nhỏ hơn vật nguyên bản, một hình mẫu để người khác bắt chước; hoặc cũng có thể là một loại thiết kế đặc biệt nào đó. Ngoài ra model còn có nghĩa là người mẫu thời trang.

Next – spectacular video of a disabled plane that safely parachuted into the sea off the coast of Hawaii. The factory-new Cirrus plane, model SR22 was enroute to Hawaii from the San Francisco area when it ran out of fuel. Video from the Coast Guard C-130 Hercules rescue plane showed the aircraft deploy its airframe parachute — standard equipment on the five-seat aircraft that sells for $725,000 in its turbo-charged version — several hundred feet above the sea. The pilot was reported to be in good condition. Minnesota-based Cirrus says timely deployment of its Cirrus Airframe Parachute System has saved 104 lives worldwide since the debut of the original SR20 model in the 1990s.

Finally, we turn to fashion and a very different kind of model. Dior presented a retro space-age fashion show for its spring-summer collection. It was a fashion spectacle with models wearing fluorescent orange boots and skintight cat-suits in flower-power patterns. Models descended from a multi-level space-opera set specially-built in the gardens of Paris’s Rodin Museum.
