In the United States, fans of the Ohio State University football team rampaged through the city of Columbus, where the university is located. Thousands of screaming, out-of-control revelers celebrated their team’s 42-20 win over the University of Oregon in Dallas, in the first national championship play-offs in American college football. Police had to use tear gas to disperse the unruly fans, who set fires and in some cases tried to force stadium gates open.
Finally, we go to Thailand where some cars were seriously damaged after a male elephant went on a rampage in Khao Yai National Park. Drivers reacted calmly and there were no injuries in the incident. Authorities said the aggressive behavior was the result of the mating season. Some 300 wild elephants are roaming around the park at this time of the year. National park rangers and drivers will stay alert.
